I think the old man in the second pic is a generico,quite sure i have saw him other times in movies.

Might be the same man but it's a little hard to say since the pics from L'isola del gabbiano are in the wrong format - they should be 4:3. I seem to recall that Mimmo Poli appears in this scene too...
